The above article is an update. Her mother went to appeal to keep her out of the psychiatric ward and lost. She will be institutionalized because of her expression of her gender. She will be held until she conforms to male gender and then released to foster care, not her mother who was supporting her.

Wes Anderson’s latest film, Moonrise Kingdom, is now out in theaters! New York and Los Angeles saw their debuts last week, and nationwide roll out is just around the corner.

OH MY GOD
Before Big Black, Steve Albini was a guitarist in a band called Big Bug. The band was mostly known for their shows where they brought live bugs on stage. The audience turnout would generally be low because people would often be stung by the bees and wasps they had with them onstage. This photo is of their last show, where Steve was stung by a mega-bug. The same night he was hospitalized because of this.
A true punk band.

Holy Ghost! - Jam For Jerry
Gerhardt “Jerry” Fuchs was an indie rock drummer known for his almost disco-inspired method of drumming. This drew him into the dance-punk label DFA Records, where he performed live or on record with several bands, including LCD Soundsystem, !!! and MSTRKRFT.
In early November, Jerry was caught in a broken elevator in Williamsburg and his attempt to escape caused him to fall down the open elevator shaft. He was set to perform at a benefit for the education of underprivileged children.
The song, despite being a synth-poppy jam characteristic of the group, has lyrics that sway between emotional remembrance and veneration of the drummer’s significant talents.

You can’t get much happier than a pig in muck, or so we are told.
But when this little piggy arrived in the farmyard she showed a marked reluctance to get her trotters dirty. While her six brothers and sisters messed around in the mire, she stayed on the edge shaking. It is thought she might have mysophobia - a fear of dirt.
Owners Debbie and Andrew Keeble were at a loss, until they remembered the four miniature wellies used as pen and pencil holders in their office. They slipped them on the piglet’s feet - and into the mud she happily ploughed. [x]

I almost feel like this is one of those “their first album deserved a better score than it got so we’ll give their second album a better score” thing that Pitchfork totally does.
I’d reverse the scores (or just give Post-Nothing a 10 and keep this one with an 8.8 (I love Japandroids))
